05Guardrails

Guardrails for high-impact changes

Sensitive updates to founder roles, founder equity, and company governance run through waiting periods, recorded approvals, and clear rules about who must agree. Everyone sees the same trail.

  • FOUNDER APPROVALS

    The founder label cannot be removed while that person still has ownership. After they reach zero, removing or demoting a founder, and comparable team-changing actions, can require the other founders (or the full founder set) to approve, so one account cannot override the group in the product.

  • COOLING PERIOD

    Many of these actions include a built-in waiting period before they can complete, so decisions are less likely to be rushed inside the app.

  • TARGET CONSENT

    Some changes that directly affect a person, such as founder equity or archiving a founder label, require that person's consent in the workflow, alongside broader approvals where configured.
